How StreamCheck works
StreamCheck helps you compare ways to watch a movie or show without opening a long list of streaming apps. Search for a title, choose one of the supported regions, and select the services you use. StreamCheck groups subscription, free-with-ads, library-card, rental, and purchase options so you can see what may already be included and what may cost extra.
Streaming availability changes, so each result should be treated as a useful starting point rather than a guarantee. Confirm final pricing, access requirements, and availability with the provider.
Where the data comes from
Watchmode is StreamCheck's primary source for title and streaming-availability data. StreamCheck requests that data through its own server and normalizes provider names, access types, regions, prices, and links for display.
A listing on StreamCheck means the source returned that option. It is not direct confirmation from the provider, and the provider may show different availability, pricing, or account requirements when you continue to its site.
How caching and freshness work
StreamCheck uses caching to make repeat searches faster and reduce unnecessary source requests. A search or availability result may come from a recent cache instead of a new source lookup. When a new lookup is unavailable, StreamCheck may identify and show an older cached result.
“Data refreshed” and cached-age text describe when StreamCheck's availability content was refreshed. They do not mean that playback, price, or account requirements were verified at that moment.
Free to Watch is deliberately cache-only. It shows eligible free-with-ads and library-card options that StreamCheck already has in recent availability data. Only listings within a limited recent-data window are eligible for that public discovery page.
What the labels mean
- High confidence
- High confidence is a source-confidence label. It is not proof that StreamCheck opened the provider page, completed sign-in, or played the title.
- Checked
- Checked means a recent automated check found qualifying evidence for that specific offer, such as matching title or offer details. It does not guarantee playback, price, device support, account eligibility, or continuing regional access.
- Unverified
- Unverified means the source lists the offer, but StreamCheck does not have qualifying confirmation for it.
- Warnings
- Warning, Unable to verify, Price may differ, and Title warning describe specific uncertainty found by an automated check or a conservative provider rule. They are not the same as a human-reviewed decision that a listing is wrong.
Not every provider or offer receives an automated check.
How reports and automated checks help
When a listing looks wrong or out of date, you can report the exact provider option. Reports are saved for review. Submitting a report does not change the provider's data or automatically remove the listing.
Reports can add caution to the matching title, provider, region, and access path. A human-reviewed decision can hide that matching offer without hiding every option for the title or provider.
Automated checks are limited to specific offer links StreamCheck already knows about. They do not scan entire provider catalogs, and their results add context rather than guaranteeing availability. Human-reviewed report decisions take priority over positive automated labels.
What StreamCheck cannot guarantee
Streaming catalogs, prices, ads, account requirements, add-on subscriptions, library access, and regional rights can change without notice. A provider may redirect a link, require sign-in, show a different price, or make a title unavailable after StreamCheck's last refresh.
Always confirm final details with the provider before subscribing, renting, buying, or starting a movie or show.
Regions and selected services
StreamCheck currently supports the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Region selection controls which availability StreamCheck requests and displays.
Selecting your services helps the app highlight direct subscription listings that match them. Add-on and channel paths stay separate from direct subscriptions, so selecting a platform does not automatically mean every channel sold through it is included.
Privacy and accounts
No StreamCheck account is required. Selected services, theme preference, and recent local report information are saved in your browser.
During beta, StreamCheck may collect lightweight usage events such as searches, selected results, availability views, provider-link clicks, and report events to identify where the product may need improvement.
