Privacy notes
StreamCheck is designed to stay lightweight and privacy-conscious. No account is required to use the app.
Current status
StreamCheck saves some preferences locally in your browser, including selected streaming services, theme preference, and recent local reports.
During beta testing, StreamCheck may collect lightweight usage events to improve search ranking, streaming accuracy, and product quality.
Beta usage events
These usage events may include search terms, selected results, availability views, provider link clicks, and submitted report events.
These events are intended to help answer questions like which titles people search for, which results they choose, and where StreamCheck search ranking or availability data may need improvement.
StreamCheck does not require accounts and does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, payment information, or account logins through these usage events.
Watchmode data
StreamCheck uses Watchmode through internal server-side API routes. The Watchmode API key is kept on the server and is not exposed in frontend code.
Data StreamCheck should avoid collecting
- Names
- Emails
- Account identifiers
- Precise location
- Full browser fingerprints
- Session replay recordings
- Unnecessary sensitive personal information
Guiding rule
The goal is better search ranking and trust, not user tracking.
